Strengthening Vietnam - Finland parliamentary cooperation

VTV.vn - Continuing his official visit to Finland, this morning (October 22), General Secretary To Lam met with First Vice President of the Finnish Parliament Paula Risikko.

Ms. Risikko emphasized the significance of General Secretary To Lam 's visit, the upgrading of the two countries' relationship to a strategic partnership, and Vietnam's important role in the Southeast Asian region.

General Secretary To Lam thanked the warm welcome and affirmed that Vietnam appreciates Finland's support in the country's development process, especially through aid programs.

The two sides agreed to strengthen parliamentary cooperation, promote delegation exchanges, share legislative experiences and support areas such as economy , education and energy.

General Secretary To Lam asked Finland to support the EU's early ratification of the Vietnam-EU Investment Protection Agreement and the removal of the "Yellow Card" on Vietnamese seafood. General Secretary To Lam also emphasized the desire for maritime cooperation to become a focus, and asked Finland to support Vietnam and ASEAN's stance on the East Sea on the basis of international law.
