Thanh Hoa Provincial Library won the first prize for the entire delegation at the National Festival of Library Staff to promote reading culture and introduce books, with the theme "Dien Bien - Forever resounding heroic epic" organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the People's Committee of Dien Bien province.
The Festival Organizing Committee awarded Excellence Awards to 6 competing teams.
On the evening of April 26, at the Dien Bien Provincial Cultural Conference Center, the National Library Staff Festival to promote reading culture and introduce books about the Dien Bien Phu Victory in 2024 with the theme "Dien Bien - The heroic epic forever resounds" closed.
The Organizing Committee awarded First Prize to the winning units at the Festival.
The festival is one of the important activities of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024), an opportunity for librarians across the country to apply their skills in introducing books and disseminating documents about the historic victory of Dien Bien Phu, about the leadership of the Party and the skillful direction of President Ho Chi Minh, about General Vo Nguyen Giap, about the glorious history of 80 years of building, fighting and growing of the Vietnam People's Army, about the heroic memories of the veterans of the past and about an increasingly renewed Dien Bien. Thereby, contributing to raising awareness, sense of responsibility, arousing national pride, love for the homeland, the desire to contribute, build and develop a prosperous and happy country among all classes of people, especially the young generation.
For the library industry, the Festival is one of the activities to enhance, innovate and apply information technology in propaganda work, bringing about effectiveness and strong spread, contributing to encouraging reading and promoting the development of reading culture in the community.
With the participation of 42 teams with nearly 1,200 librarians, representing more than 10,000 librarians from 63 provinces, cities, armed forces libraries, and university libraries nationwide. At the end of 4 days of exciting and emotional competition, the Organizing Committee awarded 6 Excellent prizes, 12 First prizes, 12 Second prizes, 12 Third prizes and other consolation prizes to the participating teams.
This festival has the largest number of participating delegations ever.
Coming to the Festival, Thanh Hoa Provincial Library participated in 4 competitions: Introducing the team; promoting and introducing the book "Dien Bien Phu - Heroic Memories" by author Khanh Linh; introducing the model of serving books, newspapers, and documents effectively in developing reading culture and serving lifelong learning in prisons in Thanh Hoa province. Especially, the talent competition with a performance of gongs and drums combined with ethnic dances and the song "Dien Bien - Forever the heroic song" was highly appreciated by the Organizing Committee and awarded the first prize to the entire group.
After the festival closes, the Organizing Committee will post videos of the teams' performances on the Youtube channel "Books and Vietnamese Wisdom" for the audience to vote. Based on the voting results, the Organizing Committee will announce the Most Audience Voted Program Award and send the award to the winning unit in early September 2024.
