The tourists were brought safely ashore.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Khoi, Commander of Thien Cam Border Guard Station ( Ha Tinh Border Guard Command), reported that at approximately 7:20 PM on July 19th, the sea area around Thien Cam commune suddenly experienced thunderstorms and heavy rain, preventing many boats from reaching safe harbors in time.

At that time, the tourist boat Nguyen Ngoc, owned by Mr. Nguyen Trong Hoang, was on its way to shore when it was unfortunately capsized by waves in the area of Boc Island, about 0.5 nautical miles from Thien Cam beach. At the time of the accident, there were 4 crew members and 30 tourists on board participating in a squid fishing tour. When the boat sank, all passengers and crew members put on life jackets and jumped into the sea to await rescue.

Officers and soldiers of the Thien Cam Border Guard Station arrived promptly to rescue the passengers and crew members.

Immediately after receiving the report, Thien Cam Border Guard Station promptly deployed forces, coordinating with the Thien Cam commune authorities to mobilize large-tonnage vessels operating near the sunken ship to approach the scene and provide assistance. However, the rescue operation faced many difficulties due to heavy rain, high waves, and the fact that it took place at night.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Khoi said: "When we arrived at the scene, all the passengers had already jumped into the sea. After the rescue, everyone had to take shelter on Boc Island. Around 0:30 AM on July 20th, when the storm subsided, the tourists were brought ashore to ensure their safety."

After approximately 5 hours of relentless effort, all 4 crew members and 30 tourists were safely brought ashore by rescue forces.

This morning (July 20), authorities and the ship owner are hiring a team of professional divers to approach the vessel and devise a plan to salvage it and bring it ashore as soon as possible.

Around the same time, a fishing boat belonging to fisherman Tran Dai Viet (Cam Trung commune) also sank due to rough seas while on its way into an inlet to seek shelter from the storm. The three crew members on board were quickly found by authorities and brought safely ashore.
