Delegates attending the discussion about General Nguyen Chi Thanh

According to the organizers, the exhibition introduces the moment exactly 60 years ago, in October 1964, the Politburo and President Ho Chi Minh decided to send General Nguyen Chi Thanh - Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission to the battlefield with the responsibility of being Secretary of the Central Office for Southern Vietnam, Political Commissar of the armed forces to liberate the South, directly leading the revolution in the South.

Always remembering and implementing Uncle Ho's advice: "Together with the people of the South to fight the Americans to the end, we must win", the General was closely attached to our people and soldiers on the front line against the Americans, devoted all his heart and mind to studying and making scientific and accurate assessments to assess the enemy; correctly determining the way to fight and directing the battles to defeat the invading Americans of the Southern Liberation Army. With his strategic vision and military talent, the General promoted the determination to "Fight the Americans, defeat the Americans", training the will to "Dare to fight and defeat the Americans" with the revolutionary spirit of attack as soon as the first American soldiers set foot in the South of Vietnam.

From the battlefield experience, the General directed the people's war firmly, proposed appropriate combat principles and dynamic and effective fighting style so that the main "fists" of the Southern Liberation Army fought steadfastly, winning the first battle directly confronting the invaders on the battlefield. The affirmation that we would "Defeat the Americans" and "Win against the Americans" along with the General's command "Hold the enemy's belt and fight" became the guiding orientation on the entire battlefield and was proven as a truth by the victory of our people in the campaign named after beloved Uncle Ho, spring 1975 even though the General had passed away.
