By 2030, Phuoc Long town strives to meet the criteria of a type III urban area.

On February 6, 2025, Binh Phuoc Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No.   215/QD-UBND approving the Urban Development Program of Phuoc Long town for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030.

Accordingly, the urban development targets are: The urbanization rate in 2025 is 82.89%, by 2030 it is 85.08%; similarly, the ratio of urban construction land to the total natural land area of ​​the entire urban area is 24.68% and 35.34% respectively...

Phuoc Long town is divided into 6 urban development areas, including: Central urban area (Long Thuy ward); Tourist urban area (Thac Mo ward); Ecological urban area (Son Giang ward); Administrative - commercial service urban area (Long Phuoc ward); Industrial - service urban area (Phuoc Binh ward); Phuoc Tin urban area (Phuoc Tin commune).

Proposing priority urban development areas for investment in the first phase of 2021-2025: Focus all resources on investing in synchronous development of infrastructure systems to ensure that Phuoc Long town meets the basic criteria of a type III urban area; Phuoc Tin commune meets the criteria to be upgraded to a ward.   Phase 2026-2030: Focus on investing in urban development areas and suburban areas to bring Phuoc Long town to meet the criteria of a type III urban area.

The Provincial People's Committee also approved the proposed List of priority investment projects for framework technical infrastructure, key technical infrastructure and social infrastructure projects up to 2030 (note that before deciding to invest, the competent authority must evaluate the project's objectives and effectiveness to avoid waste) including 11 specific lists.

Notably, the list of priority investment projects to connect urban development areas in the town; connect Phuoc Long town with neighboring areas (to overcome location, function and role standards) includes: Upgrading and expanding the connecting road from Long Giang to Long Phuoc (Inter-KV4 road from Long Giang to Long Phuoc); Building a bridge across Song Be (connecting Phuoc Long town with Bu Gia Map district); Road from DT.759 passing through the historical relic site of Ba Dinh star fruit tree and Ba Ra prison (Inter-KV4 road from DT.759 to village road 7); Building and asphalting the road from DT.741 to the road around Ba Ra mountain, Phuoc Long town; Upgrading and expanding the road surface, building drainage systems, sidewalks, lighting systems, trees on the road connecting Phuoc Long town with Long Hung and Long Binh communes, Phu Rieng district (Nguyen Thai Hoc street); Building a bridge across the hydroelectric reservoir connecting Phuoc Long town with Bu Dang district to National Highway 14; Building a connecting road from Long Dien to Binh Son, Phu Rieng district, 3.8km long; Building a road on both sides of the Be River...

The Provincial People's Committee assigned the People's Committee of Phuoc Long town to specify the items, works, and medium-term and short-term investment projects, ensuring that they are suitable for the ability to balance resources, consider the order of priority, and invest with focus and key points. During the implementation process, it is necessary to regularly evaluate the implementation progress, update the new policies, regulations of the Central and the province to promptly report, propose supplements, and adjust the program if deemed necessary. Coordinate with departments and branches to research and propose to competent authorities to decide on the issuance of mechanisms and policies suitable to the conditions of the town to encourage and attract investment in developing the urban infrastructure system from the private sector.

At the same time, review and adjust zoning plans and detailed plans to suit the general plan and the actual conditions of the town, ensuring connectivity. Have solutions to mobilize capital for investment in urban infrastructure construction, especially non-budgetary capital. Regularly inspect and urge the progress of project implementation, adjust capital sources reasonably, and improve the efficiency of capital use. Synchronously implement solutions on planning and site clearance, ensure project progress, create clean land funds to attract investment, and create resources for investment in town development.
