Nearly 53 billion VND paid for unemployment benefits

From the beginning of 2024 to the end of April, the Center for Employment Services - Vocational Education (under the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs) advised the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to decide to allow nearly 2,400 people to receive unemployment benefits for a period of 3 to 12 months with an amount of nearly 53 billion VND.

Workers complete procedures to receive unemployment benefits at the Center for Employment Services and Vocational Education.

Accordingly, the Center has received nearly 3,000 applications for unemployment benefits. The number of people receiving unemployment benefits is from over 24 years old to nearly 40 years old, mainly unskilled workers. The cause of unemployment is that the employee unilaterally terminated the labor contract, accounting for 88.1%, the rest had their contract expired, the two parties agreed to terminate the labor contract, and a small number of employees were disciplined, dismissed according to the provisions of Article 125 of the Labor Code 2012 or lost their jobs due to other reasons. To date, in the province, there have been nearly 5,200 enterprises and organizations participating in unemployment insurance for nearly 183,000 employees.
