Support for the evacuation of Vietnamese citizens in the war zone in northern Myanmar

The Department of Foreign Affairs received Official Dispatch No. 5105/LS-QHLS dated December 14, 2023 from the Consular Department - Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the evacuation of Vietnamese citizens in the war zone in northern Myanmar.

Regarding the evacuation of citizens from the war zone in Northern Myanmar, from December 4 to December 6, 2023, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Public Security and relevant representative agencies supported the repatriation of 1,014 citizens on 9 flights to Noi Bai International Airport. Of which, 2 cases of citizens from Dak Lak province were supported and returned home safely.

According to the report of the Vietnamese Embassy in Myanmar, there are currently more than 300 citizens in this area. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is continuing to plan the evacuation of these citizens as soon as possible.

Implementing the Government's direction, on December 4, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs coordinated with the Ministry of Public Security and relevant domestic agencies and partner countries to evacuate 338 Vietnamese citizens in the conflict zone in northern Myanmar to Vietnam safely.
