Over the past period, the Vietnam Association for the Promotion of Learning has actively implemented the "Studious Family" and "Studious Clan" models with the aim of encouraging people to study regularly and throughout their lives to cultivate knowledge, develop the local economy, culture, and society, and thereby build a learning society in our country. After 22 years of implementation, reality has proven the particularly important role of families and clans in socio-economic development, preserving cultural values in villages and communes, and ensuring political security and social order through the implementation of these learning models. This workshop is an opportunity for delegates and scientists to analyze and clarify experiences, methods, and solutions to further promote the role of families and clans in building a learning society.
Delivering a keynote address at the seminar, Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, affirmed that the seminar is a highly significant activity in the current context. The family is the basic unit of society, where national cultural values are maintained and preserved for its members. The family is also the primary environment that encourages and facilitates learning, fostering the creative development of each individual. Throughout thousands of years of history, each Vietnamese clan has made immense contributions to the community and to the nation-building process. Promoting education and talent within these clans is a continuous task to uphold the tradition of studiousness among descendants, contributing to the development of human resources for the country.
The comrade suggested that, first and foremost, there needs to be a more complete and profound understanding of the role of families and clans in nurturing, educating , and providing human resources for society, meeting the requirements of industrialization, modernization, and international integration. It is necessary to strengthen the building of a learning society, promote lifelong learning, create a diverse learning environment, provide conditions for everyone to access education equally, and encourage a spirit of learning within the community.
Every family and every lineage has the responsibility to create learning opportunities for its members so that they can acquire knowledge and a cultured lifestyle, making the family truly a warm home for each individual, a healthy cell of society, and an environment for the comprehensive development of human beings. Every citizen has a responsibility to their family and society and has the right to continuous, lifelong learning, taking advantage of every learning opportunity to become a good citizen, preserving and promoting cultural values, and fostering the tradition of studiousness, patriotism, and national unity in building and developing the country.
Party committees and authorities should strengthen propaganda efforts to raise awareness of the position, role, and importance of families and clans in building a learning society; spread the good traditional values of families and clans, and cultural family models, creating a strong transformation in educating patriotism, national pride, the historical traditions of the nation, and building the character of Vietnamese people...
The presentations at the conference further clarified the role of clans in promoting lifelong learning among families and members in the face of current demands; the pivotal role of the Vietnamese family in preserving and promoting national cultural values; and practical experiences, best practices, and methods for encouraging children and grandchildren to cultivate a love of learning and uphold family traditions and values. The presentations proposed solutions to further enhance the role of families and clans in traditional education, fostering and promoting cultural values and values in the context of modern life.
