Urgently prepare for extraordinary National Assembly session

This morning (December 17), National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man chaired the review of the work in 2024 and a number of key tasks in 2025 of the National Assembly agencies, the National Assembly Office, and agencies under the National Assembly Standing Committee.

There are many improvements and innovations, especially innovations in legislative thinking.

Reporting on the 2024 work results of the National Assembly agencies, Secretary General of the National Assembly and Head of the National Assembly Office Le Quang Tung said that with great efforts and determination for the interests of the nation and people above all, the agencies have united and unanimously overcome all difficulties and completed a huge amount of work.

Notably, he advised and served the successful organization of 6 sessions and 33 meetings - the largest number of National Assembly sessions and National Assembly Standing Committee meetings in a year since the beginning of the term. The 7th and 8th sessions both had a very large number of legislative tasks.

Planned work, annual work program and arising tasks are basically completed on schedule, ensuring quality.

Policies and guidelines on innovation in thinking in law-making, innovation, streamlining of organizational apparatus and anti-waste have been promptly disseminated and directed for implementation throughout the agency.

Research, consulting and service work is professional, effective, with many improvements and innovations, especially innovations in legislative thinking and in building meeting and session agendas.

Regarding some key tasks in 2025, Mr. Le Quang Tung said that from now until January 2025, in preparation for the extraordinary session in February 2025, the agencies of the National Assembly, the Office of the National Assembly, and agencies under the Standing Committee of the National Assembly will focus on implementing the summary of Resolution No. 18.

Along with that, complete projects, regulations, and documents to ensure progress for submission to the Central Conference in mid-February 2025, especially tasks that need to be completed before December 31, 2024 and January 15, 2025 as required by the Central Steering Committee.

Complete the arrangement of National Assembly committees before March 15, 2025

In 2025, the National Assembly Party Delegation will coordinate with relevant agencies to develop and complete the Project to end the activities of the National Assembly Party Delegation, establish a National Assembly Party Committee directly under the Central Committee, propose to the Politburo to appoint the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Secretary, Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term and prescribe functions and tasks in accordance with reality.

Do a good job of political and ideological work for cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers; have solutions to resolve regimes, policies and issues related to cadre work.

Review and propose amendments and supplements to the meeting regulations, operating regulations of the National Assembly Standing Committee and other regulations and rules based on the plan to streamline and effectively organize the apparatus of the National Assembly agencies, agencies under the National Assembly Standing Committee, and the National Assembly Office.
