Farmers in Lam Thao commune are tending to their summer-autumn vegetable crops.
To focus on protecting late-season crops, the summer-autumn crop, and to expedite the implementation of the 2025 winter crop production, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has requested the People's Committees of communes and wards to focus on directing the quick and efficient harvesting of rice and vegetable crops that have reached maturity, following the principle of "better to harvest while still green than wait until fully ripe," and to prepare the land for immediate planting of winter crops; assigning specialized staff to closely monitor the situation at the grassroots level to guide the arrangement of winter crop structures and apply appropriate technical measures to ensure planting within the best timeframe.
For warm-weather crops such as corn, soybeans, zucchini, pumpkin, cucumber, and other vegetables, planting should be done before September 30th; guidance should be given to planting suitable warm-weather and cold-weather vegetables, with a focus on expanding the area of high -economic- value vegetables such as asparagus, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, zucchini, and pumpkin.
For leafy vegetables like cabbage, staggered planting is necessary to avoid localized product oversupply; focusing on care and fertilization from the beginning of the season ensures healthy plant growth, improved yield and quality, and higher economic efficiency.
