Spread the charity of doctors and nurses

In recent years, volunteer models targeting disadvantaged communities have increasingly flourished. Notably, health care clubs and free dental clinics run by doctors and nurses for the poor, homeless, and patients in difficult circumstances. Without noise or fanfare, these models are quietly creating a circle of kindness in everyday life.

18 free surgeries help patients with disabilities integrate into the community

During the winter days of December 2025, a team of doctors and nurses from the Sala Humanitarian Club coordinated to organize screening and surgery for the people of Tuyen Quang. For many families, this was a rare opportunity to access specialized medical services.

At Chiem Hoa Regional Medical Center ( Tuyen Quang ), a team of doctors and nurses from the Sala Humanitarian Club, including leading experts from Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, coordinated with local doctors and nurses to conduct screening examinations for people.

After a thorough examination of nearly 100 cases, 18 complex surgeries were performed, helping patients with disabilities and motor impairments regain the opportunity to integrate into life.

Specialist Doctor Ha Van Linh, Director of Chiem Hoa Regional Medical Center, said the program has practical significance for the people in the mountainous areas, not only in terms of treatment results but also in terms of spiritual encouragement, helping patients reduce their inferiority complex and have more motivation to integrate into life.

The reason for choosing Tuyen Quang as the destination was explained by Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Manh Khanh - Chairman of Sala Club from a historical perspective. According to him, Chiem Hoa was once a place where the medical profession was sheltered by the people during the resistance war, so the return trip has the meaning of gratitude and a reminder of the continuing responsibility of today's generation.

In addition to medical examination and treatment activities, the delegation also organized the inauguration ceremony of Khau Luong - Khau Lang school and Kien Thiet Kindergarten. The project includes 2 spacious classrooms built from 100% socialized resources on a 2,000m² plot of land donated by Ms. Nong Thi Diu, a local household.

The charity trip to Tuyen Quang is the key activity in the program to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Sala Humanitarian Club. This is a charity organization established in 2010, bringing together doctors, medical experts, philanthropists and volunteers from within and outside the country.

Over the past 15 years, the Club has provided free medical examinations and surgeries for the poor, disabled children and built many schools in disadvantaged areas, contributing to supporting thousands of patients across the country. After 15 years of operation, the Sala Humanitarian Club has organized many free medical examinations and surgeries in disadvantaged areas, supporting the treatment of thousands of patients.

People's Physician, Specialist Doctor Nguyen Van Giao - Deputy Director of Tuyen Quang Department of Health assessed that the Club's operating model not only helps reduce the burden on grassroots health care but also contributes to improving professional capacity through the process of coordination and technology transfer.

Give a smile, receive a smile

Also full of charity heart, Dr. Nguyen Van Hoa - Founder of Shinbi Dental Clinic directly implements, aiming to restore smiles and bring confidence to disadvantaged people in the community, the long-term charity project "Give a smile - Receive a smile" which started to be implemented on December 10, 2025.

During his many years of practice, Dr. Hoa said he has met many patients with serious dental problems but did not have the financial means to treat them. Tooth loss, prolonged infection or pain not only affects health but also causes many people to limit communication and lose job opportunities. "There are situations where an incomplete smile causes a loss of confidence," Dr. Hoa shared.

From that, he believes that dental care not only cures diseases but also helps heal the spirit. Stemming from the desire to bring sustainable changes to the community, the project "Give a smile - Receive a smile" was developed by Shinbi as a regular humanitarian activity. The project focuses on supporting lonely elderly people, single women, poor children, cancer patients and other especially difficult circumstances who cannot afford quality dental services.

The project provides free funding for patients including porcelain teeth, tooth restoration, dental implants and necessary dental treatments. All treatments will be performed by Dr. Nguyen Van Hoa and the professional team of Shinbi Dental Clinic. According to Dr. Hoa, the biggest goal of the project is to bring “healthy smiles” - not only healthy but also smiles of hope.

For each patient's dental care and treatment bill, his team will deduct 5-10% of the total amount to serve charity work. Difficult situations will always be "helped as much as possible" as Dr. Hoa believes.

Along with long-term assistance, accompanying them in developing their livelihoods and improving their circumstances, Dr. Hoa will also continue to implement programs to support people in flood-affected areas, including providing relief supplies and medical support for severely affected households.

“Cancer patients, the poor, and people in difficult circumstances benefit, that is the greatest reward in my volunteer journey,” Dr. Hoa confided. By going to the local area, understanding the needs of those who need help, working with the local area to find solutions, providing help and supervision so that each person can develop and overcome their circumstances, Dr. Hoa's philanthropic philosophy is also something he wants his children to inherit and continue.

“I want to leave a legacy of kindness and humanity to my children, not just property,” Dr. Hoa shared. A doctor’s heart for the smiles and hopes of his patients will multiply the warmth and kindness in life.

Not only working in the field of dentistry, Dr. Hoa has made many significant contributions to community activities over the years. One of the typical programs is the "2K Kitchen (2,000 VND) for cancer patients", which has been implemented since 2019. The kitchen provides hundreds of nutritious meals every day at a symbolic cost of 2,000 VND, helping patients reduce the financial burden during treatment.

Sharing his philosophy of life, Dr. Hoa said: “I always believe that giving is forever. Every act of kindness that comes from the heart can spread and create lasting values for society. Dentistry is not just about treating teeth but also about healing. And the smile that is given is a hope that is sown.”

Talking about his work, Dr. Hoa's eyes shone with warmth and happiness. He was very humble and honest, saying that when he came to cancer patients, to dialysis patients, seeing them thirst for life, thirst for communication to feel alive, he was extremely moved.

There are people who went to chemotherapy the day before, but still tried to go to the 2K restaurant for cancer patients the next day, and then the next day they passed away. There are people who come back from dialysis but still meet friends at the dialysis village to talk and communicate to ease the fatigue and pain they are suffering...

“They have given me and my colleagues positive energy so that we can do more and support more lives,” said Dr. Hoa.

The difference in Dr. Hoa is that because he has traveled a lot and met many different lives and situations, he has "broken" many realities to help the poor and the sick in a practical way. Any situation that he helps is fundamental, long-term and has practical results.

He and his colleagues not only provide medical treatment and material support, but also go directly to the family, understand their circumstances and support their livelihood so that they can rise up and escape adversity in a sustainable way. In addition, he also thoroughly investigates and firmly rejects situations that fabricate evidence, ask for charity to sit back and benefit from the kindness of the community.

Inspired by the positive energy from the patients themselves, who are in difficult circumstances but appreciate life more and strive to improve every day, the doctors and nurses feel they need to do more to spread the message: No matter what the circumstances, everyone must live a kind and good life.
