Preparing to start the project to improve urban infrastructure in Thach Ha

It is expected that on January 15, 2024, Thach Ha district will start construction of works under the Thach Ha urban infrastructure improvement sub-project.

On the morning of January 5, the People's Committee of Thach Ha district held a working session to launch the Thach Ha urban infrastructure improvement sub-project under the Urban Infrastructure Improvement Project to minimize the impact of climate change for 4 coastal provinces of the North Central region.

The sub-project, invested by the People's Committee of Thach Ha district, has basically completed the procedural documents to start construction.

It is expected that on January 15, 2024, the unit will start construction of 6 construction packages of the sub-project.

The French Development Agency conducted a field inspection and worked with Thach Ha district on the construction of projects to respond to climate change in Thach Ha town.

The Thach Ha urban infrastructure improvement sub-project was approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 1085/QD-TTg dated August 23, 2019, and approved by the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province in Decision No. 2455/QD-UBND dated August 3, 2020, with a total investment of more than VND 851 billion, of which the loan capital from the French Development Agency (AFD) is more than VND 648 billion, the non-refundable aid capital of the European Union is more than VND 25 billion, and the counterpart capital is VND 178 billion.

The sub-project is implemented with 2 components. The first component is to build infrastructure to respond to climate change, flood drainage, and environmental sanitation, including renovating and expanding regulating lakes and canals, building embankments combined with management roads, wastewater collection and treatment systems, western flood diversion routes, upgrading Cay bridge flood crossing road, Ha Tinh city bypass road, renovating existing roads, and resettlement infrastructure. The second component is to improve urban management capacity.

The completed sub-project will contribute to improving infrastructure and environmental sanitation, increasing connectivity between urban administrative units, regional connectivity, flood prevention, climate change, bringing Thach Ha town closer to a type IV urban area in 2024 according to the Resolution of the 30th District Party Congress.

The works are expected to be completed before December 30, 2024.

Contractors also provided support for social security work in Thach Ha district.

At the meeting, some contractors presented support symbols to the Fund for the Poor, the charity Tet program of Thach Ha district with an amount of 130 million VND; presented support symbols to the Fatherland Front Committee of Thach Ha town with 97 million VND to give gifts to the poor on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024.
