The North-South high-speed railway project is a national key transport project, the section through Hue City is about 95.05 km long, the starting point is in Phong Dinh ward, bordering Nam Hai Lang commune, Quang Tri province; the end point is in Chan May-Lang Co commune, bordering Hai Van ward, Da Nang city.
The project passes through 12 communes and wards (Phong Dinh, Phong Thai, Dan Dien, Quang Dien, Hoa Chau, Duong No, My Thuong, Phu Ho, Phu Vang, Vinh Loc, Phu Loc, Chan May - Lang Co); the area of influence is about 1,255.27 hectares of land, about 8,558 households, of which about 1,600 households will have to arrange resettlement land, the number of tombs to be relocated is about 10,572 tombs.
To serve the project's site clearance work, the City People's Committee will build 23 resettlement areas and 4 cemeteries with an estimated cost of about 1,389 billion VND.
In particular, the Loc Tien resettlement area project (phase 2) has a scale of 12.65 hectares, with 238 resettlement plots, a total investment of 251 billion VND to serve the resettlement of households affected by land acquisition when implementing the high-speed railway project on the North-South axis in Chan May - Lang Co commune area.
In addition to the Loc Tien resettlement area project, this morning, Hue city also started the following projects: Technical infrastructure of resettlement area 06 in Zone B - An Van Duong urban area with a total investment of nearly 39 billion VND; Phu Da resettlement area, Phu Vang commune with a total investment of 43.9 billion VND; Phong Hien people's cemetery with a total investment of 9 billion VND, serving the relocation and resettlement of households affected by the North-South high-speed railway.
The leaders of Hue City People's Committee said that the resettlement projects serving the relocation and resettlement of households affected by the North-South high-speed railway line not only form a new residential area with synchronous technical and social infrastructure, ensuring a stable life for people when relocating, but also demonstrate the concern of the Party, the State, and the city government for the lives of the people.
Da Nang builds first resettlement area to serve high-speed railway project
On the morning of August 19, in Dien Ban Bac ward, the People's Committee of Da Nang City held a groundbreaking ceremony for the first resettlement area in the city to serve the high-speed railway project on the North-South axis.
Mr. Phan Thai Binh , Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, said that this resettlement project has an investment scale of 4.69 hectares, with a total investment of 76,189 billion VND from the budget, synchronous investment in technical infrastructure items. The project implementation progress is from 2025 to 2027.
The resettlement area after completion will meet the housing needs of households affected by the high-speed railway project, provide safe ground for other projects, contribute to infrastructure connection and promote local socio-economic development.

The high-speed railway section passing through Da Nang is over 116 km long, affecting 24 communes and wards, starting from Hai Van ward to Nui Thanh commune. The route mainly runs along the North-South expressway in the East and the Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway. To meet the resettlement needs of the people, the City plans to plan and build 35 resettlement areas with a total area of over 211.8 hectares.
