Industrial promotion - The driving force to promote private economy in Gia Lai

Gia Lai has great potential in agriculture and industry - handicrafts, but the private economic sector still faces barriers in terms of scale, capital, technology and human resources. In that context, industrial promotion activities become an important tool to support private economic development.

Industrial promotion associated with the goal of private economic development

Implementing Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW on private economic development, Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee issued a comprehensive action plan, and at the same time, the Provincial People's Committee approved the private economic development project for the period 2026 - 2030, with a vision to 2035. This is an important foundation to promote the role of the private economy in the province.

Gia Lai Department of Industry and Trade said that the province has great potential in agriculture , industry and handicrafts; the private economy is gradually developing but there are still barriers such as small scale, lack of capital, lack of technology, lack of specialized human resources. In that context, industrial promotion activities to support the development of handicraft industry, application of machinery and equipment, and technological innovation have become important policy tools to link with the goals of Resolution 68.

In the period of 2021 - 2025, the whole province will implement 328 industrial promotion programs and projects with a total support budget of more than 43 billion VND. Of which, 33 programs belong to the national industrial promotion program (10.6 billion VND) and 295 local industrial promotion programs (32.3 billion VND).

Industrial promotion activities have had a clear impact in promoting the development of the private economy. Many rural industrial establishments and private enterprises have increased productivity, improved product quality, expanded markets and enhanced competitiveness. Annual revenue from rural industrial establishments reaches over 1,500 billion VND, contributing about 6 billion VND/year to the local budget, while creating jobs for about 2,000 rural workers. Gia Lai's typical products such as wood, mechanics, processed agricultural products, handicrafts, etc. are increasingly affirming their brands when many products are recognized as typical at the provincial, regional and national levels.

In particular, some highly effective industrial promotion models have spread, inspired and stimulated other businesses to boldly invest and participate in rural industrial development and develop typical rural industrial products. This contributes to expanding the private economic force and improving local competitiveness.

Technological innovation and human resource development

In the coming time, the industry and trade sector of Gia Lai province determined that the industrial promotion program not only provides technical support but is also a tool to promote business households and private enterprises to participate more deeply in industrialization - modernization, in the value chain linked with agriculture and processing.

To achieve this goal, the industry will develop an industrial promotion plan that incorporates the goal of converting business households into enterprises, prioritizing support for newly converted or newly established enterprises.

In addition, focus on supporting private enterprises to innovate: encourage research, improve models, product design, apply automation technology, artificial intelligence, biotechnology. Support enterprises to register intellectual property, patents, trademarks and develop products with high added value.

In particular, pay attention to developing human resources and management capacity of private rural industrial establishments. Organize vocational training courses, business administration, digital skills, e-commerce; train artisans, skilled workers, support businesses in building and applying quality management systems (ISO, HACCP, 5S). Thereby helping private enterprises improve management efficiency, reduce costs and enhance competitiveness.

Strengthening regional linkages, value chains and supporting private enterprises to participate in integration: industrial promotion activities need to promote small enterprises to participate in linkage chains with large enterprises, cooperate with farmers and cooperatives to develop raw materials and deep processing. From there, improve scale and competitiveness, aiming to participate in the global value chain in the spirit of Resolution No. 68.

In addition, industrial promotion activities should be linked with investment promotion and industrial cluster development. Organize conferences and forums to promote investment in industrial cluster development; support environmental treatment, attract private enterprises to invest in production in industrial clusters; form a model of "green industrial clusters, ecological industrial clusters", creating a space for sustainable development for private enterprises.

The industry and trade sector of Gia Lai province will continue to strongly innovate the content and methods of implementing the industrial promotion program, focusing resources on supporting private enterprises to invest in technological innovation, digital transformation, product development, market expansion and deeper participation in the industrial value chain. Thereby, contributing to building a strong, modern, efficient and sustainable private economic sector of Gia Lai province, contributing to the successful implementation of Resolution 68.
