(Chinhphu.vn) - The Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has just received 10 billion VND from the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense to support people in provinces and cities to overcome the consequences of natural disasters and floods.

Presenting the donation to the Central Relief Mobilization Committee, Senior Lieutenant General Truong Thien To, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, shared that in recent days, storms and floods have caused heavy losses in human lives and property in many localities, especially in the northern provinces such as Thai Nguyen, Cao Bang, Lang Son, Bac Ninh...; with the consent of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, officers and soldiers of the armed forces have joined hands to donate 10 billion VND.

"Although this amount of money is not large, it represents the sentiment, responsibility and sincere sharing of the officers and soldiers of the entire army sent to the people in the affected areas. It is the heart of Uncle Ho's soldiers always towards the people, together with the people to overcome difficulties and losses to rise up in life," Senior Lieutenant General Truong Thien To affirmed.

With the tradition of "Forgetting oneself for the people", in the face of the damage caused by storms No. 10 and 11, the Ministry of National Defense promptly mobilized more than 485,000 officers and soldiers of the regular force and militia, along with more than 10,000 vehicles and equipment of all kinds, actively participating in response, search and rescue, and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters with the spirit of "wherever the water recedes, the army will come to support", helping people to soon stabilize their lives.

During storms, Army units are always the shock force on the front line, not afraid of danger and hardship, wholeheartedly helping people evacuate, rescue, rebuild houses, restore infrastructure, and stabilize their lives. At the same time, they donated and supported hundreds of tons of food, blankets, clothes and necessities, demonstrating the Army's deep affection, responsibility and affection towards the people." The leader of the General Department of Politics shared and hoped that, through the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the donation money would soon be allocated so that people in the provinces would have more resources to overcome the consequences caused by storms and floods.

Receiving the donation, Mr. Nguyen Phi Long, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central organizations expressed his gratitude for the sentiments of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense sent to the people affected by natural disasters and floods.

Mr. Nguyen Phi Long emphasized: In the most difficult times, when natural disasters and floods become complicated, the military and police forces are always the front line to support the people.

In particular, promoting the tradition of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense promptly directed the entire army to proactively respond, rescue, and especially support people to overcome the consequences and stabilize their lives after storms and floods.
